Ornato Disegnato 05100 – Terni, Italy, 2021
Mural conceived as a contemporary reimagining of a medieval tapestry. A geometric black-and-white border on a sandy ground frames vertical panels of stylised ornament — from floral arabesques to the recurring Günter eyes — rendered in contrasting palettes of black, red, orange, pale pink and beige. Star-like motifs punctuate the corners, while the work itself enters into dialogue with the Romanesque setting of San Lorenzo. Its title, “05100,” grounds the piece in Terni’s identity through the city’s postal code.
